Vic:Passenger dies when car breaks down on level crossing

MELBOURNE, March 20 AAP - A passenger in a car has died after the vehicle broke down on railway tracks and was hit by a train in Melbourne's north.
A police spokeswoman said the car was containing four people and broke down on the tracks at a level crossing in Campbellfield when it was hit by a city bound passenger train at about 8.30pm (AEDT) on Friday.
The impact of the collision pushed the car into a gantry pole, killing the front passenger who is yet to be identified but is believed to be a woman.
The car driver was taken by ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, while two other occupants were taken to the Northern Hospital with unknown injuries.
