Qld: Labor figures call election for their party

Retiring Queensland education minister ROD WELFORD has called the election for Labor.
With 55 per cent of the vote counted .. Labor appears to hold 54 seats in the 89 seat parliament .. a loss of four seats.
The Liberal National Party would hold 32 seats .. with three independents holding their seats.
Mr WELFORD has told ABC radio he's calling a Labor victory in this election .. on the base of a 51-49 per cent on the statewide vote.
Labor senator MARK ARBIB and federal small business minister CRAIG EMERSON have also called the election for Labor.
