KEVIN RUDD says he's confident there's still a chance of agreement at this week's G20 meeting in London .. on a coordinated approach to dealing with the global financial crisis.
The prime minister's meeting with his British counterpart GORDON BROWN today .. followed by a series of engagements leading to Thursday's summit of the leaders of the world's 20 largest economies.
Mr RUDD's played down disagreements between the US and European countries .. over the need for further economic stimulus to buoy economies hit by the global recession.
He says there's been real, measurable progress in each of the areas to be dealt with by the G20 .. and he expects there'll be another G20 summit in 2010 to assess future stimulus needs.
The prime minister has a couple of speaking engagements tomorrow .. and he and his wife THERESE REIN will attend a memorial service for the victims of the Victorian bushfires at Westminster Abbey that evening.
He'll have an audience with the Queen on Wednesday and attend the G20 summit on Thursday .. before returning home at the weekend.
