NSW: Man beaten during carjacking: Police

SYDNEY, April 3 AAP - A man was beaten about the face before a carjacker made off with his vehicle in Sydney's east, police say.
The 20-year-old victim stopped his white Camry sedan at a red light on Maroubra Road at Maroubra Junction about 12:30am (AEDT) on Friday.
While waiting at the light, a man approached the driver's side and ordered the driver to exit the vehicle.
The offender then reached through the open window and turned off the ignition and grabbed the car keys.
He then punched the driver multiple times in the face and upper body, forcing the man to exit the vehicle.
His attacker drove away in the Camry, which had NSW registration plates AA 64 JC.
The victim sustained only minor injuries.
The offender has been described as being of white/European appearance, about 170-175cm tall and with light brown hair.
At the time of the incident he was wearing a white jacket and jeans.
