US: US stocks wobble after dismal jobs data

US stocks wobbled in opening trade as investors digest a dismal March jobs report in line with gloomy expectations .. suggesting that investors are bracing for much worse.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 13.22 points (0.17 per cent) to 7,964.86 in the first trades.
The tech-studded Nasdaq composite dipped 2.95 points (0.18 per cent) to 1,599.68 while the broad-market Standard & Poor's 500 index retreated a mere 0.74 point (0.09 per cent) to 833.64.
The indices swung between positive and negative territory in the first minutes of trade after the Labour Department reported the US unemployment rate in March leapt to a new 25-year high of 8.5 per cent.
