SYDNEY, April 21 AAP - A truck driver was killed when his semi-trailer crashed off the F3 freeway north of Sydney, bursting through a railing and plunging some 20 metres, an ambulance spokeswoman says.
Emergency crews were called to the northbound lanes of the freeway just south of Berowra where the semi-trailer left the road about 11.50am (AEST) on Tuesday.
"Multiple paramedics are on scene and the ambulance helicopter is on its way," the spokeswoman said.
"Paramedics on the scene have not been able to confirm the number of people inside the (truck) cabin so we don't know how many patients we are dealing with at this stage."
The incident has caused significant delays to traffic which the RTA website describes as "heavy" in the vicinity of the crash.
