Vic: Horror 24 hours as four die on Vic roads

MELBOURNE, April 24 AAP - One woman is dead and another has been seriously injured after the car they were travelling in smashed into a tree in a shocking 24 hours on Victoria's roads.
The latest crash occurred on the Princes Highway about 3km east of Swan Reach, in the state's southeast, when the driver lost control of her vehicle, crossed the road and hit the tree about 10.30am (AEST) on Friday.
The front seat passenger, a woman in her 40s, died at the scene and the driver - also in her 40s - was seriously injured and taken by air ambulance to Melbourne.
Meanwhile, a woman died and two other women were injured after a car ran off the Hume Freeway, Wallan, and rolled early on Friday.
A 53-year-old front seat passenger died in the crash, while the 45-year-old driver and her 47-year-old rear seat passenger suffered serious injuries.
In another crash late on Thursday, a 36-year-old truck driver died in hospital after his small fruit truck collided with a B-double truck near Shepparton on the Goulburn Valley Highway.
The driver of the B-double was taken to the Goulburn Valley Base Hospital in a serious but stable condition following the accident on Thursday, about 5pm (AEST).
Only half an hour later, an 11-year-old girl was fatally struck by a Ford utility as she attempted to cross a road at Berwick, in Melbourne's outer southeast, around 5.30pm (AEST).
The girl was flown to the Royal Children's Hospital but died there at 9.20pm.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, was not injured.
The crashes take Victoria's road toll to 101, compared to 104 for the same time last year.
