NSW: Truckies to target main routes to Sydney

SYDNEY, May 5 AAP - Truck drivers plan to hold go-slow protests on two main roads into Sydney on Wednesday morning, with motorists told to expect major peak-hour delays.
The protest will involve heavy vehicles in convoys on the Hume Highway and the F3 Freeway from 6am (AEST), police say.
The trucks are expected to travel on the F3 from Warnervale to Wahroonga and on the Hume Highway from Sutton Forest to Liverpool.
"Police will have a number of vehicles at both sites," NSW police said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Motorists are advised of possible delays if these planned protests go ahead."
The protest is believed to be in response to NSW government plans to introduce point-to-point speed cameras to target speeding truckies.
They will be installed on 20 stretches of road, mainly in rural and regional areas, covering distances as short as two kilometres and as long as 80km.
Comment is being sought from the Transport Workers Union.
