SYDNEY, May 9 AAP - Police have arrested a man and woman in connection with the 2007 murder of NSW Central Coast surfer Luke Hankey.
The 24-year-old member of the North Shelly Boardriders surfing club was found with stab wounds in the car park of a hotel at Bateau Bay shortly after midnight on October 21, 2007. He was rushed to Gosford Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
"Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 30-year-old man and 31-year-old woman at their East Gosford home about 7.45am (AEST)," police said in a statement on Saturday.
The pair are being questioned at Gosford police station and have not been charged.
In the months after Mr Hankey's murder, police released photographs of a man and women they wished to speak with in relation to the incident, which also saw a second man, aged 23, stabbed.
