ASIA: SLanka military says Tamil Tiger leader alive, surrounded

The Sri Lankan military says it has the leader of the Tamil Tigers surrounded.
Brigadier UDAYA NANAYAKKARA says the military is closing in on 54-year-old VELUPILLAI PRABHAKARAN .. who's surrounded in less than a square kilometre of jungle in the country's north.
NANAYAKKARA says a major military operation is underway to get him.
PRABHAKARAN'S son was killed by special forces commandos earlier today.
