Former Telstra boss SOL TRUJILLO has branded the federal government's 43 billion dollar fibre-optic network plan a potential fantasy.
The American businessman left Australia last week .. ahead of his expected June 30 departure .. after nearly four years at the telco's helm.
Asked why he left earlier than expected he referred to the internal appointment of DAVID THODEY to the top job .. saying it made any handover unnecessary.
But when questioned about the taxpayer-funded broadband network .. he's implied the plan is all a bluff from the federal government.
Mr TRUJILLO says he'll comment on the plan in four or five years .. if it ever happens.
