NSW: Armed bandits rob cash van inside school grounds

SYDNEY, May 25 AAP - A prestigious Sydney boys school went into lockdown on Monday as armed men entered the grounds to raid a cash-in-transit van, police say.
One of the two masked men made threats with a firearm during the robbery at Cranbrook School, in the eastern Sydney suburb of Bellevue Hill,about 11.10am (AEST) on Monday.
"Two armed men wearing balaclavas approached a cash-in-transit van containing two security guards inside the school grounds," a police spokeswoman said.
The men demanded cash before the pair fled from the Victoria Road school in a silver sedan.
It is not known how much cash the bandits seized but no one was injured.
Police have set up a crime scene and are liaising with the school.
The parent of a Cranbrook student said the school went into lockdown for about an hour shortly after the robbery.
