Fed: Australia best placed to beat recession: survey

A global business survey's found Australia is an economic oasis in the financial storm .. despite pessimistic government and media responses.
One in five international businesspeople have cited Australia as the country best surviving the recession .. in a survey of seven thousand 500 people in more than 24 nations.
It's placed ahead of China .. with India and Singapore equal third .. while tran-Tasman neighbour New Zealand has ranked ninth.
Conducted in April .. the poll was conducted for Servcorp .. an office solutions company which operates in 61 nations.
The top countries best surviving the global recession, according to a survey of 7,500 businesspeople from 24 nations.
1st - Australia
2nd - China
3rd - India and Singapore (equal)
5th - Hong Kong
6th - Canada
7th - Japan and Qatar (equal)
9th - New Zealand
10th - Malaysia, Sweden and Vietnam (equal)
