Issued at 5:05 am EST on Wednesday 3 June 2009
for the period until midnight EST Saturday 6 June 2009.
Warning Summary at issue time
Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Point Lonsdale and 60nm east
of Gabo Island.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system is located in the Tasman Sea and is near stationary,
while a weak surface trough is near the northwest Victoria border and is
drifting slowly eastwards. A weak upper level trough will continue to effect
Victoria during today and Thursday, before contracting southeastwards on
Friday. A low pressure system will then develop over Bight waters, reaching
western Victoria on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday
Morning fog patches in the south and northwest. Areas of rain mainly on and
north of the ranges, only patchy light rain extending to coastal areas. Cool
with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds.
Forecast for Thursday
Patchy rain, more persistent about the ranges and clearing from the northwest
later in the day. Cool with light northerly winds tending west to southwest in
the west.
Forecast for Friday
Patchy rain through central and eastern areas, contracting east during the day.
Isolated showers redeveloping later in the northwest. Cool with light winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Scattered showers in the west extending throughout during the day, although
only isolated over Gippsland. Isolated thunderstorms developing in the west and
snow developing on the Alpine peaks later. Cool to cold with light to moderate
northwest winds.
