US: Rudd, Obama swap notes on North Korea

KEVIN RUDD has spoken with US President BARACK OBAMA about implementing nuclear sanctions against North Korea.
The White House says the prime minister and OBAMA .. who met in Washington in March .. spoke by telephone as expectations mount of a new missile test by Pyongyang.
The US Navy is also tracking a North Korean ship suspected of carrying missile parts in Southeast Asia.
The White House says the leaders discussed ways in which the US and Australia can work together to ensure full implementation of sanctions in a recent UN Security Council Resolution.
This restricts financial transactions by North Korea and its attempts to proliferate weapons of mass destruction.
It was passed in response to Pyongyang's recent nuclear test.
