Wall Street dives amid recovery worries

US stocks have dived .. as investors worried about whether the early signs of economic recovery and recent market rallies have staying power.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average plunged 170.34 points .. or 1.83 per cent .. to 9,145.92 in opening trades .. sharply extending losses from Friday.
The Nasdaq composite sank 43.12 points .. or 2.17 per cent .. to 1,942.40 .. while the broad-market Standard and Poor's 500 index dropped 21.23 points .. or 2.11 per cent .. to 982.86.
The action came after Wall Street shares tumbled Friday on renewed caution .. after a weak report on US consumer sentiment that stoked profit taking from the recent rally.
