UK: European stocks soar on economic optimism

Europe's main stock markets have soared .. as investors welcomed encouraging economic data in the eurozone.. and US Federal Reserve chief BEN BERNANKE said global recovery prospects appear good.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of leading shares jumped 1.98 per cent to 4,850.89 points .. the Dax in Frankfurt soared 2.86 per cent to 5,462.74 points .. and the CAC 40 in Paris rocketed up 3.15 per cent to 3,615.81 points.
Elsewhere in Europe .. Brussels finished 1.97 per cent up .. Amsterdam soared 2.21 per cent .. Madrid rocketed up 2.46 per cent .. and Milan gained 2.35 per cent.
