SA: Wild storms cause damage in SA

ADELAIDE, Aug 26 AAP - Weather conditions are expected to ease across South Australia, allowing weary emergency and power crews to clear up after winds gusting above to 110km/h lashed the state.
Up to 35,000 homes were left without power by Tuesday morning after a vigorous cold front swept across the state, bringing squalls that flattened trees, damaged buildings and knocked out powerlines.
A severe weather warning for damaging winds is still in place for the lower southeast, but Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Simon Timcke (Timcke) said it was expected the warning would be lifted sometime on Wednesday morning.
"Generally conditions have eased," he told AAP.
"We had the two fronts come through on Monday and Tuesday and another front will bring gale force winds to waters south of Kangaroo Island on Wednesday, but damaging winds aren't expected on land for the next couple of days."
