Wall Street keeps momentum as Fed meets

US stocks have edged higher in opening trade as Wall Street keeps its upbeat tone ahead of the conclusion of a two-day Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 9.98 points .. or 0.10 per cent .. to 9,839.85 in the first trades .. extending gains a day after the market indexes climbed to fresh 11-month highs.
The tech-dominated Nasdaq composite increased 5.06 points .. or 0.24 per cent .. to 2,151.36 and the Standard & Poor's 500 broad-market index drifted up 1.31 points .. or 0.12 per cent .. to 1,072.97.
