Fire threatening property at Torrington, in northern NSW

Six water bombers are battling a new fire front threatening rural properties in the north of New South Wales.
The fire is burning west of Torrington near Tenterfield .. and New South Wales Rural Fire Service spokesman BEN SHEPHERD says rural properties are expected to come under fire threat in the next few hours.
He says fire crew have door knocked people and told them to enact their bushfire survival plans .. as extra trucks are to be sent in to help local crews protect homes.
The Torrington blaze is one of 63 fires burning across the state .. with showers and cooler temperatures tomorrow expected to bring some relief.
Mr Shepherd says the main focus is on fires at Bungawalbin National Park south-east of Casino and Killingworth .. Lake Macquarie south of Newcastle.
Meanwhile .. firefighters have contained a fire that's burnt out five hectares of bush near Lithgow in the central west.
